In one of the previous "scripting problem of the month" sessions we looked at how surveys end. In this NIPO Academy we will look at how surveys start. How you maximize the number of real respondents and keep bots out.

Already for some time you can limit the access to different surveys to one or more groups of users on your Nfield domain. But until recently the configuration of this feature was only possible through the API. Now that the configuration is available through the Nfield Manager as well, it is time for a proper introduction of the survey access options.

The new feature, the *REQUEST command, is an extension and replacement of the GETDATA command and meant to connect with external API's. For instance, to connect with a database.

This session is an extension on NIPO Academy #24 (fieldwork report) and #35 (custom reporting) wherein we will show you how to create your own BI report.

This session concentrates on the different scripting debugging techniques and processes Nfield offers, by introducing a new feature called Simulate Interviews. This feature is a replacement and important enhancement on the generate dummy data option in the NIPO ODIN Developer.

A common problem in online surveys is that respondents close their browser before the interview status is set, resulting in faulty interview counts and quota overshoot. In this NIPO Academy session we will talk about how to prevent this and how the new *ENDPAGE can help with this.

We have extended the property filter for *USELIST to manage OR as well as AND statements. In this NIPO Academy session we will go over how this can improve your scripts.

We noticed that most domains on Nfield have orphaned surveys. Surveys that have had no activity for a long time. To help managing these surveys, NIPO introduced a new Automatic clean-up feature for inactive surveys. In this series of NIPO Academy sessions we will take through all the details of the feature and explain how to exempt surveys from this process.

NIPO has started a project migrating all the functionality of the classic "CAPI Manager" to the (online) "Nfield Manager". We are doing this by migrating the different CAPI scenarios from the CAPI Manager to the Nfield Manager one by one. We are now ready to migrate the last remaining scenario (Sample Points with Addresses and Quota).

As you probably know, NIPO has started a project migrating all the functionality of the classic "CAPI Nfield Manger" to the (online) "Nfield Manager". Shutting down the CAPI Manager will be done this by discontinuing the 2 remaining CAPI scenarios, Sampling points with quota and Sampling points with addresses, one-by-one. We will start with Sampling points with quota. And this NIPO Academy will only deal with this scenario.

NIPO has released a Markdown theme to be used on top of the NfieldChicago template. With this theme you can use various Markdown language commands in your survey to highlight text, organize the survey page and style your survey. In this series of NIPO Academy sessions we will explain how to use this theme and demo some of the new options it provides.

In this new series of NIPO Academy sessions we will do a short recap of the standard fieldwork report, but most time will be spent on how to create a private data repository and how you can use this to create your own reports.

Recently NIPO introduced Survey performance for Nfield Online, as part of fieldwork monitoring. Survey performance metrics are very important to make sure that your survey is technically running fine. But perhaps even more crucial is that these metrics give insights in how your respondents are experiencing your surveys.

When onboarding new Nfield Online customers we always organize an online introduction course to ensure a smooth start using Nfield. One of the NIPO trainers will go through the whole research process and will teach how to use the many features Nfield Online has, also taking into consideration the specific needs of the customer. We decided it would be a good idea that in this series of NIPO Academy sessions we will do such a session for a wider audience.

In our efforts to move CAPI features from the Classic Manager to the new Nfield Manager, we have made another step. We have already migrated the basic CAPI surveys into the Nfield Manager and we are now ready to move the CAPI surveys with sampling points too. In this series of NIPO Academy sessions we will show how to create, assign and monitor CAPI surveys with sampling points in the Nfield Manager.

Recently NIPO launched a new DA course. This course concentrates on the responsibilities of the DA and the tools NIPO has built to help you meet these responsibilities. We would like to use this series of NIPO academy sessions to introduce this course. We will concentrate especially on the new features for survey groups and domain access that we have introduced over the last months.

Nfield Online comes with the built-in capability to pause the interview and resume the interviewer at the precise location where the interview was previously suspended. We have recently added more control options to Nfield that determine how the interview is (differently) resumed in various situations. In this series of NIPO Academy sessions we will walk you through the options of this new feature.

NIPO has been working for some time on merging CAPI into the new Nfield Manager. We are now ready to move all the basic surveys (these are projects without sample points or addresses) to the new Nfield Manager. In this series of NIPO Academy sessions we will walk you once more through the process of creating and managing a basic CAPI survey in the Nfield Manager.

Following some testing on a limited number of domains we are now ready to release this feature to every Nfield Online customer. Before doing this, we would like to walk you once through this feature and explain how to keep track of your survey progress when multiple quota frames are used.

NIPO has introduced a new feature for Nfield, the Audit Trail. In this series of NIPO Academy sessions we will show you how to use this feature. With the help of Audit Trail, you can follow the journey of the respondent through your survey. You will see which questions were seen by the respondent, in what order these questions were shown, which navigation was used to move to the next question, how many times a question was shown to the respondent and how long it took to answer each question.

Nfield comes with a build-in reporting tool, that we keep enriching with new features. A request we often get is about support for surveys in waves. That is to say surveys that are done repeatedly with the same respondent. Nfield offers several processes that can help you reach these goals.
